A first, after 11 tournaments the year ended with a 3 way tie in points for first place.  Find out who won the 2000 ABBA Competitor of  the Year Champion

American Black Belt Academy  held belt rank testing.   Ms. Julie Stauffer tested and was promoted to 1st degree black belts.

Saturday May 6, 2000, ABBA held belt rank testing.   Mr. Nathan Burchan and Mr. Stevie Caruana tested and were promoted to 2nd degree black belts.   Ms. Shelly Walrath passed her belt down to Stevie Caruana. 1/29/2000 - American Black Belt Academy holds 2nd Handgun Proficiency (CHL) Course.

On Saturday, January 29, 2000, Harris County Deputy, and 2nd Degree Black Belt, Scott Holman III conducted a Concealed Handgun License Class at American Black Belt Academy.

1999 Karate Championships December 11, 1999 ABBA held its end of the year karate tournament and 1999 Karate Championships.  After the tournament,  the point totals from all the tournaments held at ABBA during the year were calculated to determine the winner of the Competitor of the Year and the top ten competitors.  Afterwards ABBA held its annual Christmas party.  Honored guest included Mr. Gary Lee and Mr. Ray Dixon.  Clip on the image on the left for pictures and results.

11/20/99  ABBA holds Belt Test

Saturday November 20th, ABBA held belt rank testing.   We were honored to have Texas karate legend, Mr. Steve Stavroff, attend the exam.   Mr. Scott Holman III and Mr. Doug Walrath tested and were promoted to 2nd degree black belts.   Mr. Dan Smith and Ms. Lisa Worley successfully tested for 1st degree black belt.   Many of our students tested for their next rank.  Clip on the image above to view pictures from the test and results.
